Monogram
I originally purchased monograms from www.aylee.com but we were pretty disappointed with the way they turned out. My next option was to spend about 2 hours doodling on Microsoft Word and going crazy... but eventually I got something that we are happy with. I may end up doodling a little bit more and playing with the colors, shape, etc. But this is what we've got for now. This took much more patience than I thought it would.
Welcome sign for our guests
This was just a plain wooden "Welcome" sign that I purchased at Hobby Lobby. I painted it to match our wedding color, Lapis, and then added some "bling" with stick on rhinestones. This will be placed on top of a wine barrel table at the entrance to our reception along with our guest book and a few other goodies.
Mr. & Mrs. signs for reception
I bought the wooden letters and round discs from Hobby Lobby. I painted the discs to match our color, Lapis, then spray painted the letters a shiney silver. We will hang these from the backs of our chairs during the reception. Simple but cute!
Flower Girl's Basket
I bought this basket at A.C. Moore during their sidewalk sale for $1.99! Woohoo! Then I wrapped it with a sparkley silk material and wrapped some ribbon around the handle. I added purple bows and "celebrate" ribbon and a little bit of bling with a rhinestone flower. Madi is going to love it!
Ring Bearer Pillow
My amazing fiance, Kevin, actually made this pillow! Can you believe it? =) I love that he is happy to be involved in the planning and DIY madness and he really did a fantastic job. We will be tying the rings using the ribbons below the flower.
Unity Candle
So... we were really stuck between doing a wine ceremony and a candle ceremony during our wedding. We ended up going with a candle ceremony. (I was afraid I would spill wine all over my dress)
I printed our monogram on white vellum paper then printed a quote from the Song of Solomon behind it.... you can't really see it in this picture... but it says
"I have found the one my soul loves"
I will be using this same quote on our aisle runner.

Bouquet charms for my bridesmaids... no peeking ladies!
I was honestly looking for silver initials with some sparkle, but could not find a thing... I did find some plain silver initials at Hobby Lobby and decided to add a flower charm to make them extra special. I had a friend at work (who makes jewelry as a hobby) add a lobster clip to each one, so hopefully the girls will be able to re-use these adorable bouquet charms as a keychain or something... who knows!
Bubbles!!
Kevin and I tied a purple ribbon to each bubble tube and we will be placing them into a big silver bucket. We made a sign to place next to the bubble bucket that says
"Please take a bottle and blow bubble kisses
when we take our first steps as Mr. & Mrs."
How sweet!

Bathroom Baskets/Boxes
I found these photo storage boxes on sale at Michaels 3 for $5. I then shopped around and picked up random guest essentials... hand soap, lotion, hairspray, tylenol, mouthwash, etc. Then I found a poem on the internet which I printed out and placed in a frame. Really cute!
The poem reads:
"So happy you're here to share in our special day, but should something happen to go astray,
please help yourself to the contents within, hair spray, hand lotion, and even aspirin.
Use what you need, but please leave the rest. It might be useful to another guest.
So repair any damage that may have been done, then hurry on back and join in the fun!"

Hangers for my ladies
I spent all weekend on this project.. and, although time consuming, it was easier than I thought. However, I am a bit of a perfectionist, so I may re-do a few of the names. I checked out www.etsy.com to purchase these, but they wanted $20-25 a pop... are you kidding me? I was able to find hangers in a 5 pack for $4. The wire cost $7 and change at Lowes... I was able to buy one spool (not sure on the footage) but it made over a dozen hangers... and I even tossed out a pretty good bit of "practice" material. So... basically, materials and all, these cost about $2 a piece to make. Very simple, but I think it will be a nice gift for my bridesmaids.
Hangers for the bride and groom
Same as above, but I used a cherry wood colored hanger... thought it might look a little better in those dress pics!
Kiddie Stuff
These crayons were by far my easiest DIY project. Unwrap crusty old broken crayons (I begged them off of my friends who had munchkins of their own), break them up into muffin tins (sylicone works best) and bake @ 200* for a few minutes... let them cool, pop them out of the tin... voila! Super cute!
We will also be making a wedding coloring book to place on our kids table. Gotta keep 'em entertained!

Wedding Wishing Well (well... our version)
We purchased two of these AWESOME huge champagne glasses from Michael's (using our 50% off coupons from the paper they were only $8). We will have a stack of the cards below next to the glasses. Guests can write a little message on them and drop them into the glasses. I have seen many brides use a "wishing well" instead of a traditional guest book. I thought using champagne/wine glasses instead of a box or well made this idea uniquely ours.
Wishing Well Cards
We ordered these business cards from www.VistaPrint.com- with our "free offers" all we had to pay was shipping. They came out great.
One side says "A note for the newlyweds"
and the other says "Where do you see us in 5 or 10 years?"
I think it will be really neat to see what our guests write. They will drop these cards into the giant champagne glasses above after they write their well wishes on them.
After the wedding, we will be place these in a fancied-up business card holder to look back on for years to come.

My Shoes
I love love LOVE my shoes! I purchased these super cute purple pumps (they are much more purple-y in person) from an ebay seller. Then picked up bright green Swarowski crystals from Michaels (on sale... woot woot!) I printed out the "I do" in the font I wanted to use then taped it to the bottom of the shoes. I used a safety pin to poke holes through the letters then removed the paper then used the holes as an outline for where I wanted the crystals to go. I secured the crystals onto the shoes with clear nail polish. Voila!!! Too cute!
Guest Door Hangers
We just love these! Got the idea from another knottie (sorry, don't remember the name, but Michelle, Knottie from Vineyard Board, used something similar too). Printed the hangers double sided on heavy card stock then had Kevin punch holes through the top using a 2 inch circle hole punch. Just another simple, inexpensive extra touch.
Dancin' Shoes
Just another little extra for our guests. They can slip these on when their feet get tired. I picked up the basket from a thrift store and covered it with material. I snagged plain black flip flops on sale at Michael's for $.49 each (plus I had a 10% off coupon... awesome). We used the holes that were left over from the door hangers above to make labels for the sizes, tied the round size label to the flip flops with a pretty ribbon. We will also make a sign to set near the basket so our guests will know they are theirs for the taking!
"Love is Sweet" Candy Bar
In lieu of favors, we have decided to offer a candy bar for our guests. We have many different apothecary style jars and other glass jars that we will have filled with candy. At the end of the table, the guests can pick up a bag and fill it with the goodies they like best.
We decided to use plastic baggies with a ziploc style top instead of the traditional paper baggies- this way the guests can take the candy back to their room and enjoy it later. We made "Love is Sweet" stickers (bought the stickers from fello CNY knottie Sabrina- THANK YOU!!!) with our wedding date and plaed a sticker on each baggie. Cute and simple.
